Adaptive Drive: How does BMW's active chassis control system work?
Adaptive Drive is a system of active chassis regulation, developed by the automobile company BMW. This system allows you to adjust the characteristics of the car's chassis, according to the driver's requirements or automatically depending on driving conditions and road quality.
The active chassis control system combines the DCC (Dynamic Chassis Control) and Dynamic Drive (active stabilizers) systems.

How the Adaptive Drive system works:
The Adaptive Drive system automatically limits the body's tilt while driving and adjusts the characteristics of the shock absorbers. Various sensors and sensors record a lot of information, such as the driving speed, the angle of rotation of the wheels, the longitudinal or lateral acceleration of the car, and so on.
The information is sent to the electronic control unit, which adjusts the chassis settings. This system can change the setting of the torsion stabilizers or control the stiffness of the shock absorbers.
Adaptive Drive settings:
The driver of a car with the Adaptive Drive system can adjust the chassis settings according to his current requirements, choosing from three different settings: SPORT, NORMAL, or COMFORT.
For example, after pressing the SPORT button, the stiffness of shock absorbers and stabilizers will increase. When the COMFORT button is pressed, the opposite happens. The system of active regulation of the chassis thus increases comfort and driving safety.
